III MELBOURNE -- Robert W. Briggs III, 63, a retired operations supervisor, died Monday, January 22, 2001. Mr. Briggs was born inLaurens, S.C. He came to Brevard County in 1960from Greenville, S.C. He worked for Lockheed Missile and Space Company at Kennedy Space Center for 32 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Briggs was a member of First Baptist Church of Melbourne. Survivors include his wife, Diane E. Briggs; daughters, Mary Ann Pettigrew, JodiSeverns and Leigh Ann Ward; sons, Robert Andrew Briggs and Ryan Briggs; grandsons, Austin Daniel Pettigrew, Dylan Severns and Joshua Briggs; granddaughter, Amber Briggs; mother, Mary Elizabeth Briggs; brother, William C. Briggs; sister, Mary Elizabeth Dickerson; and father and mother-in-law, Damon and Bette Grant. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home.Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at First Baptist Church of Melbourne.
