HARTLEY WEST MELBOURNE Robert M. Hartley, 82, a retired research and development technician for NASA, died Thursday, August 26, 2004. Mr. Hartley was born in Bedford, Ind. He came to Brevard County in 1957 from his birthplace. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific, a past Master of the Melbourne Masonic Lodge #143 F & AM, past Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter #106 in Melbourne, and a charter member of the Hoosier Hills Ham Club with the call letters W9ZSX. Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia; son, William; daughters, Nancy Howell and Marie Williams; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, September 11th, in the Brownlie- Maxwell Chapel. Anyone planning expressions of sympathy is asked to consider Vitas Hospice Foundation.
