THORNTON MELBOURNE - Ronnie Thornton, 62, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Mr. Thornton was born in Baton Rouge, La. He came to Brevard County in 1957 from Pensacola, Fla., and retired from Material Control at McDonnell-Douglas in Titusville. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Janice L. Thornton of Melbourne; sons, Steven R. Thornton of Melbourne, Eddie Thornton of Melbourne, and Mike Thornton of Rio Rancho, N.M.; daughters-in-law, June, Pam, and Kim; granddaughters, Shannon, Nativa, Nicole, and Jessica; grandsons, Jeff, Sean, and C.J.; great-grandson, Brent; sisters, Carolyn Ziegler of Melbourne, and Sandra Thornton of Pensacola; and brother, JerryThornton of Pensacola. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 11 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 12, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie. Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
