Thomas A. Baxter passed away in his home on Friday, February 13, 2004, with his family by his side. He was born in Lima, Ohio, on May 17, 1945 to Roy and Virginia Biggs Baxter. He grew up in Delphos, Ohio and moved to Titusville in 1968.
Tom served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves 138th Division where he retired as a Staff Sergeant and was a vet eran of the Persian Gulf War. He worked 35 years at the Kennedy Space Center and was currently employed as a Security Manager for Space Gateway Support. He is survived by his wife, Joann Eggeman Baxter; mother, Virginia; son, Scott Baxter; daughter, Susan Baxter Blount; step-daughter, Allison Gerdeman Carter; brother, Richard Baxter; sis ter, Kathy Hawk; and four grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Roy D. Baxter and his brothers, James and Robert Baxter. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 20th, at Wylie-Baxley Titus ville Funeral Home. A mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21st, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church , 2309 Holder Road, Mims, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of St. Fran cis, P.O. Box 5563, Titusville, FL 32783 or to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
