| Thomas G. Long, 84, of Melbourne died Wednesday, July 26, 2000 in Tallahassee, Florida. A long time resident of Melbourne, he was a frequent visitor to Tallahassee visiting his extended family. He was employed as a technician of Pan Am World Airways at Cape Kennedy Space Center until his retirement in 1974. He was a devout catholic and parishioner at Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Fr. Gabriel Council #3746 and J. F. Kennedy General Assembly. #1593. Mr. Long was a Navy Veteren of WWII, serving on the U.S.S.Helena. He was also an Honorary Life Member of the Transport Workers Union of America, Local 525. His beloved wife, Mary, preceded him in death in 1992. He is survived by his son, Tom Long, and daughter-in-law, Jan E. Taylor, of Tallahassee, Florida. Visitation will be Sunday, 5 to 7pm at Davis Funeral Home, Mel-bourne, with a Scripture Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday at Ascension Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, north of Melbourne. |
