THOMAS METZ
COCOA -- Thomas E. Metz, 65, died Friday, December 15, 2000. He was born in Berlin, Germany and came to Brevard County in 1978. He was president of New Age Homes, Inc. at the time of his death. He was formerly employed at the Kennedy Space Center and designed and patented the recovery systems for the Apollo and Shuttle Space Programs. Mr. Metz was very active with the Home Builders and Contractors Association of Brevard and was recentlyinstalled as its President. He was also very active with the North Central BrevardSalvation Army. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sons, Thomas A. (Katina) Metz and Paul A.(Annmarie) Metz; his daughters, Deeanne (Bob) Williams, Adrianne Metz andChristianne (Brian) Reid; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren, and his former wife, Joanne (Bob) Smith, all living in Brevard County. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Metz of Pasadena, Calif., and his sisters, Monica James of Pasadena, Connie Corson of Forrest Hills, N.Y., Claudia Loehner of Whitestone, N.Y., and ReginaMarscheider of VirginiaBeach, Va. A Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, December 28, at the Suntree United Methodist Church. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers, to the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, American Heart Association, or the charity of choice.
