BOYLSTON COCOA BEACH - Virginia Morgan Boylston, 85, a retired
secretary, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Cape Canaveral Hospital.
Mrs. Boylston was born in Flatrock, Ill. She came to Brevard County in 1963 from Maryland. She worked for Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland as a secretary, then was transferred to Kennedy Space Center, where she worked until her retirement in 1973. Mrs. Boylston was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cocoa Beach, where she was active in the United Methodist Women's Club. She was a former secretary and treasurer of the Friendship Class of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Boylston was a member and former treasurer of Women United of Central Brevard. She received the Valiant Women award for her years of dedication to the organization. She was a former secretary of the Space Coast Ostomy Association and took training classes to serve as a counselor to cancer patients. Mrs. Boylston donated her time to the local children's home and the Salvation Army by making Christmas gifts such as stuffed Christmas stockings, teddy bears and blankets. She enjoyed gardening. Survivors include her daughters, Diane Stephens of Cocoa Beach, Mariane Hastie of Longview, Texas, and Nancy Azulay of Satellite Beach; brother, Raymond Morgan of Ponca City, Okla.; sisters, Eileen Rice of Larksburg, Calif., and Maxine Mandella of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, north of Melbourne, and 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, with services following, at First United Methodist Church.
