WILLIAM
DRAPER MERRITT ISLAND --
William W. Draper, 82, who was retired from personnel management at RCA,
died Thursday, November 9, 2000, at Cape Canaveral Hospital. A former N.J. resident, he moved to Florida in 1958. He
served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Chief Radioman, flying in
PBY PAT WING squadron 22, and was a highly decorated Pearl Harbor survivor.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Helen; daughter, Sally Draper of
Merritt Island; brother, J. Everette Draper of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.;
and nephews, Richard Draper of Dallas, Texas, Richard DuBois of Peachtree
City, Ga., and Robert DuBois ofAlbuquerque, N.M. Bill's mind was sharp and
aware to the very end, and he never lost his great sense of humor. East
Coast Cremation is in charge of arrangements. No services are planned at
present. Donations may be made to a favorite charity.
