William Bill Harry Williams, 75, passed away Monday, August 30, 2004. Bill was born January 7, 1929 and raised in St. Louis, Mo. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and attended the Community Church of Howey-in-the-Hills. Bill was a retired resident of Howey-in-the- Hills. His work took him around the world and he had been a resident of Merritt Island, Winter Garden and Dr. Phillips, Florida. He had a long career as a projects manager. He contributed to the building of numerous projects on the space coast, including the Vertical Assembly Building. He also was a 22 year employee with Disney and Reedy Creek, contributing to the building of Disney World from first groundbreaking. Bill was proud of his Cherokee heritage and belonged to the Northern Cherokee Tribe of Missouri and Arkansas. His pas sion was making and playing Indian flutes. His beautiful flutes will continue to make music with musicians around the world. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Helen Pud Williams of Howey-in-the-Hills; daughter, Marjorie Williams Carris of Orlando; sons, Michael Williams of Orlando and Scott Williams of Kissimmee; and grandsons, David, Ross and Matt Williams and Jack and Nick Carris. Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held Friday, September 3, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at the Community Church of Howey-in-the-Hills. Interment will be at Taylor Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 2nd, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Howey-in-the-Hills Community Church, 500 N. Palm Avenue, 34737.
