Charles G. Cavey, Jr., a retired employ ee with Com puter Science Corporation died Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at 4:05 p.m. in the afternoon. Born in Baltimore, Md., Mr. Cavey came to Brevard County in 1977. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Catherine Ann (Roberts) Cavey; sons, Michael L. Cavey and his wife, Rose E. Lancelotte-Cavey of Ellicott City, Md., Charles G. Cavey III of Baltimore, Md.; and daughter, Laura Ann Baker and her hus band, Mitchell D. Baker of Titusville. Mr. Cavey is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Shane, Derrick, Rachel, Christina, Mitchell, Miles, Michael, Megan, Hannah, Grace and Joshua, (who predeceased Mr. Cavey in 1981).
Mr. Cavey was a part of the lives of many people in many ways. He worked, played and loved his family, all to extremes, and was a perfect role model as a father, boss, mentor and friend. His exam ples have left many he came in contact with better off for knowing him. He was respon sible for the successes of many with support, guidance, and sometimes stern leader ship, but he always had a shoulder when it was needed. Viewing and a Christian Wake Service will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, February 27th, at Church of Our Saviour Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be cele brated at 10:30 a.m. Satur day, February 28th, at the church. Mr. Cavey preferred no flowers, and instead, would really have appreciated contri butions to Birthright of Cocoa Beach or Brevard Hospice and Palliative care.
