![]() CARROLL THOMAS DAWSON , born January 12, 1937, passed away March 23, 2005 at the age of 68 after a brief battle with metastatic pancreatic carcinoma. He is survived by his wife, Liana Ellyn Dawson , a Longview physician, three daughters Debbie Pena of Pearland, Tx, Dena Wood of Austin, Tx, and McKinsey Dawson of Longview, two sisters, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillibell and Everett Dawson , his first wife, Charlene Dawson Curlee and his sister, Ouita Dobbins. Carroll was an electrical engineer and project manager who had a dedicated and fulfilling career at NASA / JSC where he worked for 35 years before "retiring" to the business of managing his wife's medical practice. He participated in the Apollo, Skylab, Space Shuttle, and Space Station programs. He was a member of the Senior Executive Service at NASA and as a young man served 18 months in Intelligence in Turkey. At the time of his death, he was a board member for the Hunter's Creek Homeowner's Association and had worked avidly to beautify the lake. He was his wife's best friend, business partner, and husband and he was a loving and involved "Mr. Mom." His companions, Rio and Bean, a min pin and Basenji, already miss him.
