GORDON SATELLITE BEACH Lawrence (Larry) N. Gordon, Brig.General USAF, retired, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004. He was born on July 27, 1924 in Madison, Indiana. He gradu ated from the U. S. Military Academy at West Point in 1946 and began his 32 year career in the United States Air Force as a pilot. He married Mary Ann Baldner, a for mer Air Force WASP, on December 23, 1949. His various assign ments included several Air Force bases throughout the United States as well as assignments at Kwajalein Island in the Pacific and Schulthorpe, England. He retired after serving as the Commander of AFTAC at Patrick Air Force Base in 1978. His many awards included the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit and Meritorious Service Medal. Brig. Gen. Gordon is sur vived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Gordon of Satellite Beach; one sister-in-law, Jane B. Davis of Downingtown, Pa.; one brother-in-law, John Baldner of Dunlap, Tenn., and his wife, Nan; and seven nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Lawrence Davis and a grand- nephew. A memorial service with full military honors will take place at Beach Funeral Home, Indi an Harbour Beach on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 4 p.m. His final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D. C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Make- A-Wish Foundation. Enve lopes will be available at the memorial service.
