Sherman Lloyd Dewar, 82, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at home. Born in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia, he moved to Palm Bay in 1947, with his late wife of 57 years, Dorothy. Mr. Dewar was active in Palm Bay in the 1950s and 60s serv ing as a City Councilman, Vice Mayor, Police and Fire Commis sioner, and Fire Chief. He was instrumental in the incorporation of the City of Palm Bay. He retired from Kennedy Space Center in 1986 after working for Boeing and Lockheed. His family includes his daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Anne and Terry Oswald of Palm Bay son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Jan Dewar of Mauldin, South Carolina; grandchildren Amy Morris, Jennifer Bargo, Eric Dewar, Jessica Oswald and Adam Oswald; great-grandchildren, Corey Morris, Kelsey Morris and Michael Bargo; and his sister, Pat Frost of Clearwater, Florida. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 4 p.m., at the Palm Bay Funeral Home.
