BOB THOMPSON
COCOA BEACH Robert H. Thompson, 81, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, Janu ary 17, 2004. Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived in Brevard County for over forty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II with the 142nd Infantry. He was part of the invasion of Normandy and was decorated for his service to our country with four Bronze Stars, four Overseas Bars and the Good Conduct Medal. Bob worked as an Industrial Engineer for Radiation (Harris Corp.) and Pan Am World Services. He also worked in Saudi Arabia for a short time. Bob was drummer for various groups in Brevard County, the most famous being The Sounds of the Fortys. He was a bartender for The Surf and Ramons in Cocoa Beach. Bob was named Best Bartender on the Beach by Brevard After Dark. He was well known and well loved. Bob is survived by his daugh ter, Bobbi Tafoya; two grand sons, Robert Tafoya, Ryan Thompson, and Ryans wife, Tiffany, his great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Thompson, all of Santa Clara, Calif.; and Ernie Thompson, his best friend and brother of Merritt Island, Fla.
